Hi GPLers,

In these challenging times, I hope you, your families and your communities are staying well and looking out for each other as best as you can.

For those of a different Era, in Star Wars and GPL terms, from a Galaxy far away and a long, long, time ago, there was a thread called 'A Small Addon For Monza'. The last post there was maybe in late 2003 before the RSC forums sadly disappeared. It was perhaps one of only four or five threads which reached more than 100 pages long due to so many contributions. It was an exciting time. Monza then, was the 'Papy' Monza, so it was 'owned' by the whole community already, and the whole community could then help to try to make it better. From discovering new details, to creating new content. It was an 'open project' where some very skilled 3do artists, like JochenCT HYPA and Steffen W learnt to develop their existing skills towards GPL and some members like myself, who had no skill at all, just a passion for GPL, to be encouraged to try to make their first basic textures and 3do edits. What Jochen and Steffen created in those days were for us, I think I may say on behalf of the community then, were huge leaps in detail and artistry for a GPL track, so much so that we could not contain our excitement to experience it ourselves from their preview pics. A lot like Bruce's new Honda for those that recall and were around back then.

Anyway as a bit of fun, here is a small addon for Monza(67). I spoke with a member of the team already who said to post here, so I trust it is ok by everyone, thank you.

4 Tigers, all slightly different, can you spot it? There is something else missing also, who knows what it is? :-)

Best wishes, Duncan

And here is some Nostalgia of the past R&D for Monza in the RSC days, for those who might enjoy it. Of course back then still many details were unknown and some mistaken. Sadly I cannot find any of Steffen's preview pics, but I did find some from Jochen :-)

It is for the newly released Monza67 Stefan. The billboards are of the accurate ones from 1967.

Place in your monza67 folder. If you might not like them, simply delete. For anyone who would like to, these can also be made into mips for the Papy Monza, please feel free.

Sugar coated Saiph

Here is a colour corrected 'F' & 'I' AT trackside banner. Two mip versions, shady and bright (original was bright, simply remove '_bright' from mip name to use, or use the shaded one included already named correctly as 'fiat.mip'. Surprisingly, particularly if you use the bright version, these small changes make quite a difference to the visual experience.

For your monza67 folder, again if you don't like it simply delete the mip.

Much more possible if people are interested.

Thanks for your feedback and appreciation Heinz, Arno, Marco, Ginetto, Stefan.

Here is an addon for the large Rettifilo Tribune shell billboard.

From the colour photos I have it is clear there was no shimmer on the billboard, it was a strong colour to be able to see. However the small Coca-Cola directly after was affected strongly by the sunlight, so I tried to make the update match within the monza67 track. It wasn't so easy but I am happier with it now and it seems to fit with the environment. The Coca-Cola billboard was alongside the 300m brake marker but I imagine there was maybe clipping issues.

Place the shell mip in your monza67 track folder, again if you don't like simply delete.

I noticed when looking at the shell billboard, another mip was needed for the FIAT banner I updated IF YOU ARE USING THE SHADED version!

Here is the extra FIAT mip if you enjoy to use the colour corrected shaded version. If you are using the colour corrected 'bright' version then you should not use this mip. In RL(real life) the FIAT banners were shaded from the sun.

Here is the extra shaded mip.

Again the Shell mip update makes quite a difference to the driving experience in monza67, but it is much closer to the real experience if you do like it.

Ok, so another quiz. I didn't check my Monza stuff for a long time. With another look today I noticed there was more than 1 version of the FIAT trackside banner although all with the same design principle. So again maybe a little bit of fun for those who enjoy it. Is it possible to discover what they all were for 1967?

So far I can see all the banners had the same large single font F(yellow) I(green) A(blue) T(red).

There were at least 4 versions running down the retiffilo tribune (although we will not see them so much at 170+mph/250+kph) and maybe totallying 4 as well, of 4 different FIAT models perhaps each in the 4 main F I A T colours.

The first three models listed are known to be accurate and been there, the 4th I can't confirm it may be actually be the (slogan)
    FIAT DINO Coupe (yellow?)
    FIAT 850 ...? (green)
    FIAT 124 Sport Coupe (blue)
4th model for 1967? FIAT ?124 Familiare? (red)
Was there a fifth banner, maybe with a slogan, saying something like .... 'STYLE, .... .....'? Perhaps this is the 4th banner in '67 and in Red. In 68 it appears to have been in yellow.

EDITED, see this post for updated info https://srmz.racesimcentral.net/inde...=20#entry150115

If you are interested in the real history, here is the original 1967 Honda Manifest, for the entry submission for Honda F1 Racing with John Surteees driving.

I wish for new multi season add-ons for Monza67. In 1968, the start-finish road was repaved. In 1969, the color of the Gulf banners had changed from blue to orange.
