Yes, and .7 for him could be how much for us mortals?

Why are the AI slower? That's when I thought the track was slower. My times are slower but I just figured it's like a new track now and I need to do more laps. All the shadows mess with my braking points. So, I know i'm braking early.

Last week I had some time to do some quick tours on the new Monza67 track using the '67 Brabham and Eagle and the '65 Lotus. And as others in this forum I realized that there are some significant changes regarding the track geometry and cambers. Some curves seem to be un-changed (Curva del Serraglio, Parabolica – Ginetto please correct me if I am wrong). In other curves the cars show a significant different behaviour. The most obvious difference seems to me the geometry of the Curva Grande. Using my favourite stiff '67 differential set up for the Papy Monza track (something like 85/30, 6 clutches) the cars tend to oversteer significantly when entering the Curva Grande – in the Papy track this set up fits perfectly to my driving skills. Since taking the Curva Grande as fast as possible is a key element for hot laps at the Monza track the differential set up has probably to be changed to less aggressive specifications (e.g. 45/30, perhaps less than 6 clutches) – but at the moment I have not enough time to figure out a better set up. The Lesmos combination seems to be easier to drive than in the original Papy track. Especially the exit out of the second Lesmo seems to be smoother, less close. On the other hand driving the Curva della Roggia and the Vialone at full throttle requires more attention than in the Papy track. Also these curves seem to be changed slightly compared to the original track.
In summary driving on the new track provides some nice surprises. From a drivers point of view the Papy track and Monza67 are similar but not the same. I don‘t know which one is more realistic (= closer to the reality in the 60‘s). Nevertheless beside the outstanding graphics and textures I really appreciate the new geometry and driving physics. I am looking forward to reading something about driving experiences by others, new set ups for this track and so on.

Ginetto and team: great job! :yipee2:

Just a quick note to say - fantastic work. Greatly appreciated.

You are setting new standards with GPL - still the best SIM & Modders

So, dudes, what's the deal with the first stretch of armco on the outside edge of ascari?

In "Grand Prix (1966)" we see there is no armco there - only catch fencing with a tree in front of it (!) (tree seen here in pathe footage: https://youtu.be/YXsvnMvNr58?t=40) - and that it does not extend onto the triangle of grass where the newer circuit meets the older loop. (The second armco on the straight is there, though, but it's yellow like the one at curva grande, and a few feet farther from the track edge)
https://youtu.be/7HA71tYl640?t=287

These two videos (although blurry), would appear to corroborate these facts.

Just a holdover from papy monza, or something else? Just something I noticed after lapping for a while then watching newsreels and Grand Prix again :P

This is a small update that removes some of the single armco on the right hand side of the Ascari curve.  It also makes the single armco  leading in from the Pirelli circuit yellow in color.

This update is inspired by the post of "bingo" previously in this thread - https://srmz.racesimcentral.net/inde...140#entry151197
Look at his video evidence and read his remarks.

Included are updates to both the '65 and the '67 monza67 tracks for GPL.
Thanks to ginetto for removing the collision where the armco textures were deleted.

Great stuff! Who needs to be protected from running into a tree at 150+mph on the outside of Ascari, anyway, right?

Finally got some a proper session in on this track. I find lot's more bumps and an even trickier Lesmo 2. Now I just need to turn up the 55mod AI speed to no collect a Merc in Ascari every ten minutes.

What's the best way to help the AI speed up 10 seconds?

Monza67 has all the files needed to be included in the championship. :)

You just need to change this line in the gp.ini file:
trackDirectory=monza
into
trackDirectory=monza67

everything else can stay the same :)

I have similar problem. I changed gp.ini file like always (to monza67) but for some reason car set is custom with Ickx in Matra, Bandini in Ferrari etc [same goes for 65 mod]. When i change track directory back to old Monza car set is back how use to be. I tried reinstal the mod but it's still same and it's probably first time something like that happened to me so i have no idea what to do. Some idea? Thanks :)
