Hello everybody,

I know this was already discussed but cannot find the thread.  We're racing with the mod66 in Mybroga and many drivers brought again the questions about the (excessive?) draft of this mod, and mods in general.

Many, including myself (some of them with some experience in real race cars), think the draft in the mods is excessive to the point that prefer the almost "no-draft" of the original GPL cars.  Especially the distance at which the draft acts and the narrowness of the wake seems strange. For instance, you'll win different speed from a car that as distant as 300 meters ahead if you go at the left or right side of the track.

So I have three questions

1) Could you show me the thread where the discussion about the draft is?
2) Who's the "draft-guy" of the mods? Is he still active?
3) To not modify the mods, which would be a nightmare... would be possible to do a "no-draft" (=original GPL draft) patch applicable to servers (and hence, all drivers)?

Well, I also would like to read what do you think about the draft in the mods. How many of you agree that the draft is excessive in the mods?

Cheers and thanks in advance for any help

Marcos.

I agree with the sentiments on this thread and the other. The draft is too strong and reaches too far, particularly on the historic 67 mod.

Me too. I also noticed that during online sessions myself and others would very often easily improve their offline PB laptimes quite a lot. Even without an obvious tow from a car in front.
You just go faster when other cars are on the track.

I'd like to say I think the draft is fine as it is.

Sometimes you improve speed from cars you don't even see in the screen excepting for pribluda...

I agree.

From bicycle racing, which I did a lot of, even at 50 kph / 30 mph, there was a draft effect at about 3 seconds / 14 metres. Although that depended on the size and aero efficiency of the rider ahead.
