Hi folks,

I've loved GPL for years. Stopped playing for a few years but then I saw the GPL 2020 Demo.

Absolutely brilliant. No messing around with mods for cars, tracks etc. It was ready for me to play! Heaven.

Does anybody know if the team who developed this have any plans to add more cars, tracks or seasons to the demo?

I've read the instructions on how to install new tracks, which are very complicated. Please could the team add cars, tracks and seasons to the GPL 2020 Demo in the future?

I wanted to race against cars from the same era e.g. 1967 season but the cars in the demo are from different years so, as much as it's a brilliant demo, it leaves a lot out.

Please, please give us patches that add cars, tracks and seasons by the years. E.g '66, '67, '68 seasons etc.

Many thanks for a wonderful GPL experience. More please!!!!!!!!!!!

best regards, Domin8or

There are no plans to add any new cars or tracks to demo.

However, the demo's website and included Read Me that came with the demo give detailed instructions on how to add new car mods and tracks to the demo.

The demo isn't really suited to add mods to. It's still much easier to use the normal GPL coupled with the GPLPS All-in-One installer and use that as a base. It might feel like a detour but really it is really easy and saves you a lot of trouble everytime you want to add a new track or mod.

Tommie, that is true IF the player has GPL to begin with.  The demo doesn't require the newbie to have GPL.

I don't understand why you say it's difficult to add mods and tracks to the demo.  We purposely tested the demo for this and didn't have a problem.

Ah I see :) . But what if you want to run the original '67 cars and tracks?

It's true the player does have to have the original CD in order to use the GPLPS installer.

You could try the GPL 2013(?) demo, that's just the original 1967 cars with 1 track.
When you've got that installed you can add any mod and track you like just as with an original cd install.

According to GPLLinks, there was a 2013 demo from F1Legends. Since the website disappeared, the link points the srmz topic.

I had both a 2004 and 2013 demo on a backup hard drive, I'm not sure what the differences between them are though.

That said it's not difficult to find a GPL iso if you really want to dive into GPL... just saying... :whistling:

You can't run the original cars with the demo as it doesn't include the original graphics, physics, and ancillary files.  You can add the tracks though if you can find them.

Of course, I had forgotten that there was a F1Legends 2013 Demo. :)
I have never downloaded it. Jani, do you have a working link? I did a quick search on SRMZ but couldn`t find it.
