"Olivier Mathieu Tribute"

For 2020 the 2nd Galaxy 67 Championship (by Planète GPL) will pay tribute to Olivier Mathieu (a well-known Belgian racer in the French-speaking community) who died on November 14, 2019.

He left too early (he was nearly 52 years old only) and will be remembered all year round : we use the tracks where he distinguished himself from 2002 to 2008.

15 races from February 9th to November 29th.

Gathered to a dozen, we are looking for 3 or 4 fast drivers (-40 and better) more.

If 3 or 4 slower drivers (0 to -30) want to join the party they will be welcome too and it will be perfect.

As last year, the general ranking will be completed by two more, by levels, one for the favourites and one for the challengers.

Thanks to Robert Fleurke, Tim Roedl, Iestyn Davies, Jani Posta & Marcos Mirande for coming to enrich the championship line-up for the East London race : 15 drivers at the start and 14 at the finish even though these races are done without shift-r.

We hope that Mati Falas & Renato Jungle, who wanted to join them, will be able to do so, to further enrich a line-up that already included about ten drivers at -40 and better.

Others are welcome if they wish.

The next race will be at Oulton Park.

I nearly missed the event all together but finally arrived to the practice, ran a few laps, and took the last spot on the grid. A safe start and first laps, then I started to gain positions. I was even in P4 with sight on third car, but spun in the chicane, and dropped back to P6. Next lap I went off at the exit of the chicane to the grass beside the road. Dropped from a height I could not return to the track, so I tried to go over the banked part, but lost two wheel in the process so I quit the car, and retired.
