At 22 you think about everything but death.

RIP Anthoine Hubert...

Freak accident. They might want to put gravel beside the Raidillon to avoid cars bouncing back on track. I know cars can roll then, but lessons have to be learnt here. So that his death won't be for nothing :(

I don't know whether gravel traps work, at such speed, they might go airborne and in worst cases jump over the fence into the woods.
The only real solution might be extending the run off but I doubt there is space.
Otherwise slow the corner down but I think the whole motorsport world would outrage on the suggestion alone.

Personally I think all the safety devices did their thing, but such in impact is beyond a human body's capability. Even if you put them in bubble wrap, so to speak, it won't help the cause.

That said, this was an absolutely tragic and horrifying accident.
Shows that despite all the safety, it is still a dangerous sport.

RIP Anthoine Hubert

A crash at the speeds of modern F1 cars is always frightening and dangerous.
This crash was beyond safety protocols to protect a human.
As Yannick said, this a dangerous sport - always has been.

So very young and with all the world before him.
Rest in peace, Anthoine Hubert.

The drivers know the risks, they live a very wealthy life beause of it and nobody forces them to do it. I think many of us can only dream of even having a chance at something like that. There isn't anyone to blame for this in my opinion, it's sadly just part of the sport. Without the danger it would be pointless and boring anyway.

I feel for his parents and family, surviving your own child is any parent's worst nightmare.

Yes RIP to a shining talent ðŸ™

Yannick:Otherwise slow the corner down but I think the whole motorsport world would outrage on the suggestion alone.

I remember one year, they slowed down Eau  Rouge, with a tighter chicane, from the bottom and up the climb to Raidillon.

Can't remember the year 🤔 Maybe done a few times 🤔
But I know this could annoy true motor racing fans 😠

That year was 1994, after tragic Imola, that thing was ridicolous https://f1retro.gr/in...ge-emasculation
Motosport is always dangerous 'cause high speed in circuit, good improvements have made in recent years but impossible to avoid the risk. And (for me) it's wrong to reduce the circuits as a run in a garden

I think track safty measures: tyre walls and run off area - did it job. Hubert's car crashed but did not bounce back on the track. Problem was with some other cars that run full speed through the run off area. Why some drivers were able to see accident in front and slowed down to avoid risk, but some others were unable...

Anyway nothing can return life of  young driver. RIP Anthoine... :(
