I've tried installing NASCAR 2003 on Windows 7 and after finding the right files I managed to got it working with a no-cd patch and DEP disabled. But everytime I start up the game Windows switches to the basic theme (non-aero) and stays like that even when the game is closed. Also often I get a black screen when starting the game and I have to alt+ctrl+del to get back to my desktop.

This probably has something to do with my gpu drivers I suppose? I have a AMD R9 290X and use recent drivers.

Is there any known way to fix this?

NR2003 (and GTP) runs here without any problems in Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode. Maybe you must run as Admin.
Don't forget tu run Setup.exe ;)
