Random Failures

one thing that always bothered me in GPL is that your car can suffer failures if mistreated but it does never, never, break down due to a random failure. It does happen to the AI, with them having random suspension, engine or gearbox trouble (one time I even saw one of them losing a wheel altogether on a straight, like what happened to Massa in real life some year ago), but that does never happen to you as player. Is this something that can be fixed by some magic from Lee? or is it hardcoded?

I understand the random failures are hardcoded in the exe but I would really love a tool to modify them. I do all my racing against the AI and would much rather I had roughly the same chance of a failure they have. Over the course of a championship it makes it much easier to win.

What with a gearbox failure...can be my shifter...it´s real or virtual the problem?

All of that already happens with the AI, so I would like to have the same deficit too. Everything would be more immersive and level the gap with the AI

I don't know if such option was hidden in GPL.exe. But I think random engine failures happens with player.
I don't know for sure but NR2003 has random failures too. According to this topic https://www.simracing...eakdowns.37535/ it was possible to turn off random failures in Multiplayer only in NR2002. NR2003 doesn't have such option.

Had to read thru it a few times to figure that out.
This topic seems too close to the veil between reality and fantasy and the difference between a game and a simulator.
If its a game and made too easy for sure its no fun to win.
If its a simulator...you don't so much care about winning?
Would it be more of a challenge to win if the AI broke down less often?
(Understanding that is probably less realistic).
