55Mod Race Specific Carsets v2

Here are the race-specific carsets for the six 1955 championship races - plus the four races from 1954 held at the cancelled venues for 1955.
There are some non-championship races also included - particularly the '55 Oulton Park and '55 Syracuse events. Finally, there are the races
at the '54 Aintree 200 which was run anti-clockwise and the '54 Pescara GP which, along with the '54 Pedralbes track, are still in beta form
and not yet released.  You may delete or keep these two track folders, as you like.

Championship races:

1955 3° Gran Premio de la República Argentina - ba55n2
1955 13e Grand Prix Automobile de Monaco - monaco or monacane
1955 17e Grand Prix de Belgique - spa67
1955 5de Grote Prijs van Nederland - zandvort
1954 41e Grand Prix de l'ACF - reims
1955 8th RAC British Grand Prix - aintree
1954 XVII. Großer Preis von Deutschland - nurburg
1954 XIV. Großer Preis der Schweiz - bremgart
1955 26° Gran Premio d'Italia - monza10k
1954 XII. Gran Premio de España - pedra55 (not released)

Non-Championship races:

1955 2nd International Gold Cup - oulton
1955 5° Gran Premio di Siracusa - syracuse
1954 1st Daily Telegraph 200 - aintreeR
1954 23° Circuito di Pescara - gpescara (not released)


The performance of the AI has not been tuned or adjusted very much.  Mostly, the AI perform similarly to the 'generic' AI supplied with the 55Mod.
Most of the R/L race breakdown chances are modelled.

These carsets are not final.  There are always new photos surfacing ... and over time more details are noticed.  As improvements are made
we hope to provide updates.

Installation:
Un-zip this archive into your GPL folder (or for separate installs, your GPL55Mod folder) allowing over-writing of files.
The 55Mod car files will be placed into the cars55 sub-folders.
The 55Mod driver images will be placed into the layout folder.
The driv55.ini files (and for Oulton also a track55.ini) will be placed into the track folders.
There will also be sub-folders within the track folders with R/L race info and 55season.ini entry data, if you need it.

Credits:
All carskins are made from the original 55Mod carskins created by Royale, Shaun, MECH, sky, Border Reiver, francesco and ginetto.
Driver faces by MECH and ginetto.  Original driver suits by Lee and ginetto.

The 55Mod Team hope that you enjoy these carsets.

ed76, I have already begun those starting grids with the inclusion of the cars/drivers that we have in the 55Mod.  I just need to make the proper carskins.  ;)

ed76, I have a carset started (as for '55 Pau and '55 Turin) for '57 Rouen which was the first year that the longer circuit was used for a major race. This is the track that we have for G.P.L.
A carset could be made for either race.  One could have the '54 non-championship race on the short circuit.  I chose to use the '57 championship race on the longer circuit.

Is it a straightforward job to change the player racing # ?

The default player #4 now clashes with an AI car number at several circuits....

No big deal, however, and does not affect enjoyment of the mod :)

deegee, unfortunately the answer is 'no'.  When the 55Mod was being developed we did not anticipate making race-specific carsets.  So, we chose the old stand-by of player car '4'.

You can make a player carskin with another number.  You could, for instance, make a player car #99 by painting a blank (default) carskin with that number and saving the file as XXX99.mip.  Then you would need to make a XXX4.3do file (or modify a default 3do file) that has the 'call' for that XXX99 mip file.  This would give you a different player car with the #99 visually ... but the 55Mod would still list the player car as #4.

[G.P.L. can be modded to change the player car number ... but that requires even more work, like making the new player car # files (both mip and 3do) for all car types.  Plus, if you race online, you would need to change back to player #4 for that.]
