However (or BUT! ), to my mind it is exaggerated and could be lessened.
It has taken a lot of fun out of the '55's for me and, as a result, I have stopped using them for now.
You are welcome.
I did that research because I was also the opinion that the brake fade was too strong.
I know the Sportscars can not be compared fully, but at least I could find infos on the brakes of the 55 (50s) cars.
This was just some basic research I did.
There has been done a lot more research by Lee, Richard and the other team members before me on 55 F1 cars.
The infos given by Hans Herrmann, see post #103 https://srmz.racesimcentral.net/inde...=90#entry125954
were also of great value. Thx Wolfgang (ducwolf).
At the final stage of the mod we even had contact to the Mercedes-Benz historic race department where the 30-50s cars are maintained and prepared for show events/ races. A big thank you to Mc Wolf for making this possible. That means we have got some general infos on the W196 car. The engineers even watched the 55 promotion movie https://www.youtube....h?v=FdYEczW9Ev8
The more I have read about these cars and their brakes I think the physics guys have got it as right as possible within the limitations of GPL.

It should be a side view of the car in the Front Suspension camera.
The view is shown below and isn't any different from any of the other car cam views for the nose, roll bar, and suspension views. So it looks like I can't modify these files - or did I corrupt them somehow?

I just tried and it works fine here.
PS your car cam editor seems different than mine (v. 1.0.11); it doesn't have the buttons at the bottom.

and now, the important thing. i love the fade pacth. it´s something new to take into account. it´s perfect, but... i have tested some cars in zandvoort. not too much laps, but i think enough ones and fast enoug to. the vanwall have disc brakes, but it doesn´t recover from the fade fast enough for me. may be it can be that fade fast, like others, but it has to recover fast. disk brakes cools better than drums. this is one of the advantages of disc, no??. it´s my opinión.
ah!! and I am spanish, so my english is not perfect. so sorry.

Sometimes a person is so close to a thing that we don't see it very closely.
I drive the Ferrari 625 very, very often and now will notice the mirrors detail much more.
Thank you.

Exactly. As with original GPL, it takes a bit of practice to learn how these cars like to be driven.
I let off the throttle approaching a turn, pulse the brakes lightly a few times to bleed off momentum, downshift as necessary, and power through the turn; but never stand on the brakes as in a modern, or even sixties era, car. Occasionally I get a brief yellow light but that's acceptable; getting a red light means you've lost too much braking power to successfully negotiate the next sections of the track, unless that is a long straight, so it's better to lose a little time in each turn and maintain a higher average speed.
How accurate is all this? I've no idea, but it sure is fun.

It will be great to have overheated brakes on the 67... Smashing the braves lap after lap is not realistic. In fact It will be great to see in any sim a pilot have to cool down brake an tyres in a race after pushing some laps. I have no see it this, no in Rfactor, AMS, or Assetto, only in the old NR2003.
Plus this cars where hard to drive since the drive traine go between your legs, and if i don´t remember wrong the maserati have the brake on the right foot and the accelerator on the middle. (EDIT: i was wrong that was the Alfa Romeo Alfetta)
Sorry i realise this is OFF TOPIC!
