Having been shown a remarkably easy way to add sounds back to tracks that have been recompiled or re-grooved.... and adding them to tracks that never had sounds in the first place... here is a sampling of tracks with announcer & crowd sounds.  Most all of these main track 3do files are for the most recent updates to some of the more common tracks.  For tracks with multiple year graphics there are separate sub-folders with those files - rename them with the proper suffixes if you like.

Just extract the files from each archive into the corresponding track folder.  Remember that if you do a straight un-archive that those tracks with multiple year files will have sub-folders created within the track folder.

Hi Leon.  Are you certain that you have monaco.3do; ssource.3do, crowd.wav and announce.wav in your Monaco track folder?  There are sound sources in four places: Station Hairpin grandstands, grandstands behind the pits, Gasometers Hairpin grandstands and the Control Tower at the S/F line.

It might be this the problem. Some time ago I used a modified 3do made avalaible here somewhere which removes the station and puts the grandstand for 67 instead. Let me see if I find the files involved

EDIT

There you go, could be it?

Added the Watkins Glen 1965 update by Remy with sounds in Post #1 above.
(Remember, that if you want this '65 version in your watglen track folder alongside the 1967 version you should re-name this archive's main track file to "watglen.365")

so if i install all the files except the 3do in the archives (e.g. from watglen_1965_sounds.rar), I will have track sounds with my re-grooved 3do?
that's pretty cool, thanks Greg :D

Roo, no, the main track 3do (watglen.3do) is required to have track sounds.  That is the file that I am modifying.  The ssource.3do, crowd.wav and announce.wav are the support files for sounds.  :)

I can't seem to get Zandvoort to work. What are the proper suffixes for 65, 67 and 69. Thank you in advance.
