What Future Awaits Power And Glory?

so, I was wondering, what the future holds for this marvellous mod. Are there going to be further updates? Further content? Or just some general bugfixing? What can we expect next, realistically talking? I really hope that v3.2 won't be the final step, but one of many yet to come
I would like also to take the opportunity to thank again the team for everything they have done so far. Thank you!

However two previous members have returned to the team, NacK and HR186S so we are working on 3.3. There will be bug fixes, updates to existing cars and hopefully at least one new type of car.
I still hope to do some projects based on P&G recreating specific races or championships.

I'll do my best to track down some more bugs should I find some
Speaking of which, I read that the GT40 was overhauled physics wise in v3.2; now, I know that prior to the overhaul you made, the car was developed by Aris right? He managed also the physics of the GT40 in Assetto Corsa. However, an user noted that in AC's GT40 the fuel tank was located in the front, where instead there's an oil tank in the real car, while the fuel tank should be on both sides of the car. Aris took a look at it and ammitted that it was an old fault of him, back to prior experiences (PnG?) as he always thought that that was the fuel tank. He has now fixed it. Does PnG GT40 really suffers from the same mistake? Are the fuel tanks correctly located?

To quote from that
Quote
18. Error in vehicle mass corrected – the GT40 is now around 14% heavier.
19. Error in fuel tank location corrected – the GT40 now has its fuel tanks in the sills rather than over the front wheels.
20. Fuel capacity corrected – now 140 litres rather than 115 litres.
Strangely perhaps, the MkII and 69 GT40 always had fuel tanks in the right place.

BTCC is too recent for the scope of Power&Glory though I am a fan of the BTCC from its start the 1987 to the late 90s.
Its predecessor, the British Saloon Car Championship is a possibility. I am looking at 1965 (Minis, Cortinas and Mustangs) and 1968 (Mini's, Escorts, Cortinas and Falcons with the odd Mustang and 911).

P&G and Dirt Rally are the only sims that have piqued my interest lately. Dirt Rally won't suck me in until it includes all the Group B cars from the 85,86 season and most if not all the tracks from the same seasons. I've noticed it's still missing the Nissan 240RS and Toyota Celica Turbo.

That would be cool. With what appears to be in P&G already, 1960's Trans Am seems feasible too.

We have a fair few of the cars for a 66 TRANSAM - the Mustang, Cortina, GTA, Mini and Abarth, but we are missing some key players in the O2 class like the Dodge Dart and Plymouth Barracuda. If we move into 67 or 68 the gaps get bigger.
There are three issues with doing historic championships
- Availability of cars - are the large majority of the cars in the championship available?
- Availability of tracks - are all (or most) the tracks in the championship available?
- Length of the races - many top-line championships in the 60s and 70s were endurance events. The 66 TransAm for example consisted of races which were 4, 6 or 12 hours long. The reality is few people want to do a six hour race, or if they do they don't want to do a championship of 7 or 8 six-hour races. If cars and tracks were in place this wouldn't put me off, but a championship such as the BSCC with races 30-60 minutes long is more attractive as full length races are practical.

So that made me wonder what it is like to do an endurance event in P&G. Does P&G model brake fatigue? If the brakes fail, can they be fixed in the pits or garage?
Also, wouldn't it be great if it were possible for the track became greasy after a car loses an engine.

But is it set so that it produces sensible effects over time? From the accounts I have read of cover wheels drivers during the sixties and seventies they always talk a lot about brakes fading and how it affected their races. Especially american drivers suffered from severe brakes fading and were always looking for a more durable solution to the problem. So, brake fade was an important matter in those races at the time from what I've read

Brake fade is different to brake wear. Brake fade is caused by the brakes overheating. GTR2 also models brake fade (and indeed the reduced effectiveness of cold brakes).

I believe that GTR2 doesn't model Turbo properly, but I might be wrong
