For the guys in the US possibly north America too, this appears to be a great bargain for a quality PSU, an Antec True Power Classic 750W made by Seasonic. They also have an Antec Earthwatts 750 for the same price. It's more efficient being Platinum but the warranty is only 3 years versus 5 years for the Truepower Classic. The Truepower Classic doesn't have modular cabling but if you can stow the extra cables it should be nice. I ordered one myself.

Here's some good reference material concerning PSUs.

Great PSU Greg, but IMO much overpowered...
I think a 500W PSU would be much more efficient for your hardware.

With a beQuiet gold 400W PSU a Phenom II x4 @3800MHz with an XFX HD6870 2GB (oc925/1150)  with Unigine Heaven Benchmark 4 the max power consumption is 220W!
My FX6300 @4000x6 with ASUS Matrix Platinum 7970 @1100/1650 and bQ 480W gold PSU eats max 280W.

Look at the efficiency graphs https://www.hardwarel...st.html?start=3
The smaller PSU's are more efficient at the lower 90W stage wich is the more recent stage used for a daily PC ;)
In the medium 250W they have the same efficiency...

PS

I use the Heaven Benchmark as it uses the PC a little more than GPL does.

??? What settings are you using in Heaven?
I test with Ultra and Extreme tesselation and it's another planet compared to GPL, wattage wise

Yep, Ultra and Extreme tesselation, but it does show that a much smaller PSU is capable of way more than GPL ever needs :drive1:

Well yes. I use a 550W by XFX with the hardware in my profile page and I have even overclocked my cpu, ram and gpu
