Great stuff. Thanks lots and lots for this.It really floats my boat.

Just one question= It states here :
That you need certain tracks to install.Namely Monacane,Mosport Rain and Spa 67. Can you still use with original pappy Mosport,Monaco and Spa?

Thanks all again for the hard work   :hat-tip:

Oh my! I didn't think I could love GPL anymore until now. I have lost interest in driving any other sims now.

One question. I see the 67 Championship includes Monacane, Mosport Rain, Spa 67 etc. and that's great. have you adjusted the AI for these tracks? I know when I ran these track before the AI were just as fast as the old easier to drive tracks. Meaning the AI drove Mosport rain as fast as the dry version, but I had the grip of a wet track.

Also, will there be a season that will include all the non championshp tracks in the proper order along with the championship points tracks to have a complete season like the real drivers ran in 67? Or is that up to us to make up a season?

This beyond anything expected, and you guys are real good at keeping a secret. You must have all been laughing when we were begging for a 67 mod. :D

Yes, is possible. First, in the provided season files you need to replace monacane with monaco, and (although I think you should not… but if you really want) spa67 with spa. Mosport is already listed in addition to mosprain. To make it more clear open the provided season67.ini, look for [Event5], three lines down there is: trackdirectory=monacane. Replace monacane with monaco. Do the same for spa67 at [Event8], change only the line trackdirectory. Eventually, instead to replace you can add those tracks. Look at the case mosprain and mosport.

Then go in the downloaded carsets. E.g Carset 2 for monacane. Open the provided track folder monacane, copy only the following files bwpic67, drvx67 and drvx67-Race and paste them into your monaco track folder. Do the same in Carset3. Open the provided spa67 folder, copy only the file drvx67 and past it into your spa track folder.
In this way you will have the correct historical entry list racing at monaco and, too bad, at spa. However the AI performances will not be as accurate as they would if you use the recommended tracks.

Hope it’s clear enough. :)

I agree wholeheartedly, Pete!  I just installed a quick test, comprising of the first carset and ..... :wowspring: BAM ... this update has just DESTROYED the hopes of any other sim hoping to recreate a HISTORICAL MOD :run_over: .  GPL forever!

I second these questions.

Gianfranco and/or Chris,

Some advice please ... I am contemplating the best way of installing this new, AMAZING historical update.

I currently have two 1967 seasons: a) "67SEASON" that contains all my installed tracks which I use when racing my personalized F1 cars, and "67HISTOR" - your (previous) HS mod B).  I like to keep those separate as I have a number of tracks that are not historically correct (wonderful "eye candy" though) which I play with from time-to-time.  These two seasons are linked to separate player names in GEM+, so I can switch between these 67 F1 "mods" simply by selecting the player name.

Now, I want install this latest Historical Update as a separate "Mod"; similar to the way that I installed the 'Spinning HS Mod' ... How do you suggest I do this?  Should I just rename my previous "67SEASON" to something else, and create a new player to link the new HS carsets to the new "67SEASON" in GEM?  I am not sure if this is a good idea as "67SEASON" is the default when installing new tracks ... OR ... am I just complicating things too much?  I hope this makes sense!

Thanks again for the wonderful gift, everyone! :thankyou:

I leave Chris to answer the first question.  Regarding the season, the provided 67season.ini file includes all the F1 race events which took place during 1967, world championship and not, plus the GP of South Africa of 1968, all in chronological order. Thus as the real drivers ran in 1967. Just pay attention to the Canadian GP. It is listed twice: one use papy track [Event12] and the other mosprain [Event13]. If you  prefer to have only one, you may delete the other and renumber the list. :)

After my second kid birth I have literally no time for sim racing, but somehow I need to find a way to do it again.
Thanks a lot and a really big CONGRATULATION!

You have  a good point.  I personally prefer to have a GPL installation for each mode to avoid the risk of "contaminating" one mod with the other. Of course this means to replicate tracks in more installations.

Yes, I see what you did now. As for the AI speed. I've since ran the races, and the AI are adjusted.

You sly devils. How long have you been working on this?

Anybody who had a hard time driving the 67 F1 cars. This mod should help you. It has more grip now. The cars are very predictable.

At the repository, Gianfranco explained  what carset67 V2 offers for the physics

With Chris explanation on Post 1, It can answer some of the questions about global physics changes that you 'll post here, sooner or later.

View Postg.spinning, on Dec 26 2015 - 06:25 AM, said:

My recollection on the physics changes is the following. The tyres grip vs temperture model is changed wrt to the original Grand Prix Legends and is now similar to the latest mods with higher grip at low temperature. Draft has also been sligthly reduced. Furthermore the mass and power values of the various cars follow their likely evolution during the season to reach the values used by Papy at the race event where that car model was introduced. Therefore, to make an example,  only the 312 available from Monza ( carset  5 , I go by memory) will have the full power of the 48v engine, while the 312 of the previous carsets will have a reduced power corresponding to the 36v engine in use and some more kg.  Honda RA 273 and RA 300 have different mass/power values, with those of the RA 300 equal to those of Papy. The same is for the BT19 and BT24 or the BRM P83 and P115, Cooper, etc. Then the newly introduced cars, e.g. BRM P281, Climax motorised, F2 (one for all), etc. have their own mass and power values too.  Chris and Richard will correct me, if I am wrong. I guess it would be nice if we could have a spread sheet for carset with the mass and power values used by each car. :-)

Today I was driving cars from the carsets 1 and 5. They are great!! I always dreamt with something just as this new mod/carset!

Thanks a lot to the people involved in it.

Cheers, Marcos.
