If the backup is a working installation it will be possible, but a lot of work to get it up to date.

I searched for ages for the original big box version with chunky manual. Cost me a bit more but worth it for the nostalgia. Just like handling and smelling an old book.Something special about that feeling.
If you get hooked into gpl I would advise trying to get the original big box if you can.

Or does someone other than Mastertronic sell it?

The file contains gpl,Nascar Legends,Nascar Racing 3 and Viper racing as well as others.
Its not an iso or torrent. Inside each game file is the files you would find on a install disc.

It's a great game and difficult to attract new users as the CD is getting harder and more expensive to get hold of. It's not about piracy, it's about keeping a legendary game alive. Can't see anyone objecting to that.

Oops. Mastertronic/Sold Out hasn't had Grand Prix Legends for awhile...few years maybe?
When asked they said don't expect it ever again.
Back then thought maybe a new source would show, then forgot all about it.
Anyway, deleted the link.
Thanks Bob.
Besides having a disc or box edition for the sake of having it, everything else is already available except nine of the OEM tracks? Maybe eight?
