I have tried to follow Bill Simpsons very old post on adjusting the chase view for the 71 can am mod. with no luck at all.

Go to https://gplpp.com/ > How to > Car stuff > Other car stuff > Driving view.
You'll have to set a camera view the way that you want it, then in the player.ini set
[ Personal Information ]
drivingView =
I have set the driving view in each of the numbered settings and csaved the cam.edit file as the cam for the appropiate car. I get either a straight over the top view looking down or a straight side view .Never the cam file i have saved.
Can the chase view be moved fro tha Can Am 71 ModOr am i just wasting my time?
Thanks and regards
Pawgy

From the GPL++ page with the cam list: "You can use either Brian Heiland's GPL CarCam Editor or my own GPL TrackKam Editor to create exactly the view you want (Brian's is superior). You can find links to both in the Utilities Section."
That link is toast, and I could not find CCE here, so its attached here:
Have used CarCamEdit for many years. Open it, browse to Sierra/gpl/cars/car make/cam file, then select and open the car cam file to edit. For some unknown reason, using cam number 12, "roll bar view," is used by a lot of drivers. There is no reason in particular. I used "nose" cam for a long time. Note that CarCamEdit does not edit all cams.
Then in player.ini whatever cam number is selected for driver view that number has to be entered on the "driver view = xx" line. No need to do anything in GEM+ or let it re-built EXE. Just get in and drive.
Hope this helps.
Edit: Sorry, Pawgy, just noticed you are asking about the Can-Ams. All that file swapping and re-naming was too confusing for me. But I didn't try it, so maybe easier when you're doing it?

Thanks john. I have the car files figured out in can am and I think you have solved my problem. Will let you know.
I think I am ok now . Was using the player.ini and not the pl71ca.ini I now am able to adjust back and up in chase view .
I also have to save a cam view in each of the car files. and not touch the f10 key.
Thanks
