Is there a fix for the flagman in this track, because as it stands now there isn't one. :?:

:bump:

Tried the track today for a possible league race, but it seems there is no Starter !!

Maybe I'm blind but I didn't see one, not in the normal and not in the light Version.

Any known solutions for that ?

Ahhh,  sorry guys.
Jacques Bossy made a 3do fix so that you could see the starter as well as new AI. You'd have to compare the 2 AI to see which you think is best.

Thanks for the offer Rob.
The .cln would be needed for adding any extra track side objects so please go ahead and make one.
I do not have any period shots so I will have to start looking for stuff between 1955 and 2006 when the track was changed.

OK, will do. It will probably be the weekend before I get a chance, and obviously give me a poke if I forget.

Seeing the recent posts in this thread kind of reminded me about Assen TT 67.  It was a track I liked and used to drive, but haven't in a long time.  So I fired up the 67's and did a some laps.  I ran into a bug with the replay I've had for a long time at this track, but I had forgotten about it.  GPL will ctd at the same spot when watching a replay.

Going by the map in GPL, there is an unnamed left turn before the right turn corner named Stroomdrift.  As my car is exiting the unnamed corner in replay, GPL ctd every time.  If I remember correctly, it only happens with the TV cameras.  If the view is changed to a view that's not TV 1 or 2, then it won't crash.  I'm just wondering if anyone else has this?  And more importantly, does anyone know a fix for it?  I remember uninstalling and then reinstalling the track several times, but this issue was always there for me.  Kind of frustrating to forget about this problem after lapping for 45 minutes and losing the times and replays to the ctd.

A very similar problem is known from Hockenheim '67 and could be strongly reduced using different TV camera angles. You may wish to try and edit the TV cameras to see if it has any effect, especially if it's caused by the long draw distance. If there was a bug in the trk, i.e. some sort of physical track section mismatch, GPL would most certainly CTD when driving/independently of the selected camera.

An early version of Avus had some kind of mismatch at the S/F line;  didn't cause a CTD but would launch your car like a missile, trailing smoke and flames and usually missing a couple of wheels, high into the air.  Apparently you had to cross the line at a certain point or maybe a certain speed because this didn't happen every lap.  Posted a replay at RSC and was directed to a different Avus;  don't know if that old version is still around but it made for some spectacular replays.

Hi Paul,
I have some books here about 80 years of history of the TT track containing a lot of pictures regarding that era. Ofcourse I can provide you some scans, unfortunately mostly is in B/W but it should give an impression of trackside objects etc. Living 10 km's from the track and some race expercience on the old and new layout could also provide some intel ;)

Great !
When you have time, please zip up what you have and post it please. Maybe we could form a small team to work on this together.

:)
