On RSC I had a post about infrquent GPL lock ups and got some very good responses but i have never really solved the problem.

I have all the mods and the latest GEM+ installed and aprox 200+ tracks divided into 5 groups with the GEM+
Seasons track manager.

The ONLY way I can run gpl with out a lock up when entering the track at the very last screen is if I follw this procedure every time.

I must select a track in Gem+ and switch to TESTING. IN GEM+ I select one of the mods or the 67 cars and go to the game. and usually make a set up for the car and mod I have selected. I then go to the track and run untill i have the set up worked out.

I must exit testing and switch to singe Race while still in the game, then go back to the track and everything will load just fine. It seems to work every time.

If, in GEM+ if I select race instead of test I can only get to the last loading screen befor my computer locks up, or I get to the in car view and it locks up and I must reboot.

If I exit the track to set the AI to a competetive level for me, I must start the procedure all over again in test mode.

I have finally given up on trying to correct the problem because i just get tired of re-booting all the time.

I have a very good system that runs RFactor , GTR2, N2003 and a very graphical intense IL2 1946 ww2 flying sim, almost flawlessly with everything turn up to the higest level.

OH BTW, I have a separate install that only has the original Papy cars and tracks and does not use gem+ and has purty much the same problem.

My GPL was purchased in 1998 and has been on each one of my 4 computer upgrades starting with w95 thru wxp.
