SimRacing MZ > Grand Prix Legends > "I just want to talk about all things GPL"
MECH
Hi all,

I've been rather busy these months...

With what? A comic book... a what? A comic book of GPL!

In the attachment you will find a report off the 1967 race @ Monza in comic book style.

I've tried to make the story as realistic as possible. However not all info was present so i've taken the liberty of asuming some facts. rolleyes.gif

See the attachment below.

The comic book is also downloadable at my website : https://home.planet.nl/~aquisate/index.htm

Look under downloads (who whould have figured out that ey?)

N-joy.

(Oh and Walt you might have a look @ the credits coss your in there as well wink.gif)

So THAT was it... rolleyes.gif

I guess my horizon was a little bit too limited to think of this possibility. smile.gifBut who said everything about GPL had to be at least half serious?

Keith aka Dangermouse be a Mate and turn this thread into a sticky in your GPL section so we don't have to go looking for it. This is most certainly something which GPL dieharders would enjoy.

Hummm - wet Mosport with a (modified?) '65 BRM. You certainly are aware that the #12 car in '67 looked very different.

Yes smile.gif

But as i'm progressing with the graphics there are always the next hurdles to take dry.gif

The front wheels don't want to spin if i mix honda and brm wheels. But since i'm only making it for graphics i can work around that.

here's also a Sample off Amon smile.gif

Just saw it over at RSC. smile.gifVery good!

If you need any reference material or realism check, you know I'll do my best to help you create another masterpiece.

Thx for the offer thumbsup.gif

I'll post the driver.ini and the graphic files here later (e.g. hob12a.3do and hob12a.mip etc..) However i used a mix off the gplea honda 67 and gplea brm 65 so i'll have to zip the murasama folder complete coss i had to mess with so many files stretcher.gif

Pity i can't add another car so now i'll have to swop mike fisher's lotus 33 and David Hobbs BRM into the murasama folder whenever i want to make a screenshot think.gif

Would you be willing to check for realistic decals/striping, helmet colours etc...?

And if you have any background material other than what i got from www.intothered.dk and sutton i'ld be very happy smile.gif

As long as it's not too urgent, sure. smile.gifI'll have to take my last two (oral) A-level exams some time between the 9th and the 14th of June, but after that I won't have anything to do. tongue.gif

My folder with Mosport pictures contains 138 ATM, of which many are certainly in there several times. That's all I've got to check your work. (apart from some general knowledge like helmet designs and so on, of course)

(Edit: no. of pics now reduced to ~100)
MECH
No rush Flop smile.gif

Here's the preliminairy set (still some work to do i guess, for instance i think i need to lift the side labels off shell etc. and the name and no.20 aswell on the fez)

Before yous start this it's best to backup the 67 carfolder and copy the driver.ini to a safe place so you can restore things smile.gif

You need to drop the .mips'and .3do's in the specific car folders off the gplea 1967 set. From what i've noticed off your remarks i think you know what goes were smile.gifIf not just let me know and i'll explain more..
Further you need to copy the brm.dat from the full 65 set and rename that to murasama.dat and drop it in the murasama folder. Then copy the files from the murasama-hobbs (from the zip) folder into the murasama folder. Drop the driver.ini into the gpl directory.

You probably know how to view the carset but in case you need a hand:start a practice, skip to race, exit and save the practice. Use svg-edit to re-arrange the grid to the actual 67 racegrid for realism laugh.gifstart a race and after a few secs. stop and save the replay. start gplfccm and pan around the starting grid.

ta for now

P.S. let me know once you have the data so i can remove this here (keeping things a bit tidy smile.gif)
FloP
Got it. Let's see when I'll take a first look (not before the weekend, but then I may have more time than I'd expect).

gplfccm? Never worked with that, I'll just go through allcam and TV cams and see if it seems right.

PS: Yes, I hope by now I roughly know what goes where. smile.gif
FloP
Took a first look at the mips. smile.gifIt's a good start, as long as you know that Pease ran with a non-standard design.

Apart from that, the names on the cars probably involve the biggest inaccuracies - minor details!
