Luna (Richard Neville) has managed to figure out how to add sounds to any track!!! shocking.gif

This is from his announcement thread at RSC:
QUOTE (Luna)
I've finally figured out how to add sounds to tracks :urpbana:

... but I'm not sure the results are really worth the effort! There's a limit of just two sounds (crowd.wav and announce.wav) and it seems these have to be 'played' at the same time so there's not a lot that can be done with them. The sounds also have a limited range (they can only be heard when close to their origin) and changing the volume of the wav doesn't seem to alter this.

So far all I've done is add an announcer to Edmonton and I've attached the relevant files (just extract to your Edmonton folder - I take it you all have one biggrin.gif).

The good news is that it should now be possible to reinstate the sounds to Papy tracks which have been re-grooved smile.gif

Do make sure to go down the thread at RSC to get the ammended files for his Edmonton.

Cool. RSC is down at the moment (might be the computer I'm using...) so I can't read the rest of it, which is frustrating. Does Richard mention how he did it?

Nope, it's the site..can't get in either ranting2.gif(you realize how much you miss something untill it's gone! cry.gif)

It was getting rather diffycult to get in lately, perhaps there's some kind of hype on the other fora (like a new mod?) confused1.gif

I'm glad this is still up thumbsup.gif

Good news on the sound...pity i can't find out how he discovered it.... dry.gif

Thanks. Yeah RSC is down again.

Maybe Luna might come here and say something but I kinda doubt it......

Should RSC still be down later on I'll post his uploads here so you can all try them out.

Something.....

Here's those Edmonton files, and an announce.wav which is sampled from the real Edmonton announcer (courtesy of Fred Young thumbsup.gif)

I'll be giving an explanation of how do add sounds soon, which I'll post on any forum which happens to be up and running at the time laugh.gif

I just thought of a possible use for this tracksounds idea: maybe Gilles (Maltais) could use it in some way to add 'rain' (steady drizzle, big watery swish) sounds to his upcoming "rain" tracks in our F2 Mod. Could add to the overall atmosphere. I'll be sure to mention it in any case, if he hasn't though of it himself already cap.gif

Just a thought though! 59.gif

Btw, RSC is still down it seems. Good thing the Mirror Zone is always there for us to gather as well! thumbsup.gif

This seems to be the only fully functional forum at the moment so it gets the explanation first! I've posted it HERE
