Aha! That's the kind of guide I was thinking of writing! I've never seen your version before Stefan, I didn't even know it existed.

It looks great, although there's one thing I would question. Both the PDF and the websites (English and German) start off by saying that you should install GPL from the original CD, and then it goes on to describe how to use the all-in-one installer. But that is no longer accurate, is it. You can now install GPL just by using the original CD and the all-in-one installer, there's no need to do the standard installation first. Might save some confusion if that was updated.

But it won`t harm installing from CD first, before using the all-in-one installer.

Is it important this "Start GPL via Start -> Programs -> Sierra -> Grand Prix Legends
and create a new player for each mod you`d like to install" ?
I have only one player for all MODs

Thx for the french translation!

I will add 1-2 more sentences on the 60 FPS Patch and Vsync and on the recommended wheel settings, to make things more clear.
So there will be an v1.4.1 later this day

Don't you think, Stefan, we should insist more about installing GEM + just after the GPL installation and BEFORE installing alls the Mods. Because, if by mistake, someone install GEM + after installing the Mods, he won't have the possibility to activate the Mods.

I'm progressing to version 1.05 and checked the guide from you and found this one:

Ginetto asked me to change the registry values:

While it should read :

Is there anything else I should remove, change or include?

You are right, I will change that in my next version.

I will then remove it with my next update of the guide.
Until then it won`t do now harm to install it again, even so it is already included, won`t it?

Well, it took quite a while...

But it is now also included in the latest version 1.5

Btw the homepage is now called GPLworld and not SRworld anymore

I had a computer disaster last week, following a virus attack. The system is now working fully as it should again, except that I have lost all of GPL somewhere along the way. All my settings for all the tracks (but I have them on paper too), all my hot (or warm) laps, everything has vanished.

The only solution is to start again from scratch. I began installing and ran into a problem, with this pop-up message:


An error occurred while trying to read the source file:
The source file "E\:readme.txt" does not exist.

Click Retry to try again, Ignore to skip this file (not recommended), or
Abort to cancel installation.

What should I do?
